ABOUT OUR AREA

Bridgeport is located on Long Island Sound. It is Connecticut's largest city, with 143,000 residents. It came to be known as "The Park City" for its wide tree-lined streets and exceptionally beautiful parks. Chartered in 1836, Bridgeport is in the heart of Fairfield County, one of the most prestigious areas of the country in which to live and work. Located an hour from New York City and three hours from Boston, Bridgeport offers the cultural and entertainment opportunities of suburban New York and the charm and history of southern New England.

Bridgeport Regional Business Council is the umbrella organization for three local Chambers of Commerce, as well as other groups working to make the Bridgeport Region a better place to live, work and do business. The BRBC web site offers extensive information about our six-town region.
