At United Way’s September 8, 2005 Day of Caring, volunteers from The Center for Women And Families and the City of Bridgeport add a much-needed coat of paint to the garage.

2005 Day of Caring volunteers help with landscaping
chores to beautify the front and back yards.

Mutual Housing Association of Southern CT Executive Director Larry Kluetsch, Mayor Fabrizi, 33 Yale Street resident Sheila and The Center for Women and Families President/CEO Kristine Hazzard preside over The Yale Street Supportive Housing Project
ribbon cutting ceremony.

Mayor Fabrizi and Kristine Hazzard marvel over the outstanding work completed by professionals and volunteer teams and
discuss upcoming projects for Bridgeport’s Ten Year Plan to
End Homelessness.

Mayor Fabrizi embraces Shelia, who, along with her husband
and 2 children, is among the first residents in the newly
renovated home.

Details matter. This beautifully restored nonfunctioning fireplace is the centerpiece of the 1st floor apartment’s living room.

Amy Bryant Eisenberg, interior designer, volunteered her
services in renovating and decorating the 1st floor apartment.

A rear view of the home shows several volunteers discussing
the few finishing touches that are soon to be completed.

The roomy back lawn provides a wonderful play area for
the children with plenty of space for summer cookouts.
